8 minutes with Arnaud Tonus
Hi Arnaud, we're getting some news, how are you doing at the moment?
AT: In terms of my state of mind, pretty good, even if I still have physical problems with my leg. I am currently in rehabilitation because of an inflammation of the bone following my fracture of the tibia fibula.
When do you think you can start training again?
AT: In 2 weeks, first in Switzerland and then I will have to go to Holland to see my team which is based there. Training will really start in Italy, around November. The goal is to train with my team mate Alessandro Lupino with whom I get on very well. I think that this will be very beneficial for the cohesion of the team and this emulation will allow us to progress as much on the preparation of the bike as on the level of speed for us.
With this precise and busy program, will we see you at the Geneva Super Cross?
AT: No, I will not be racing in the Super Cross this year. It was a difficult decision to make, especially since it is the second year in a row that I will not be participating in this race that is very close to my heart. The Super Cross really requires very specific preparation and, given my injuries, I had to make a choice. The main objective for my team and I is really to prepare as best we can for the 2014 World Championship in order to play a leading role. We will have a lot of technical tests to carry out, both in terms of engine and suspension and we will have to be ready for the championship which starts very early, on March 2 in Qatar.
Will we still have the chance to see you around the SX?
AT: It will depend on the testing program and since I will have resumed training, it will be difficult for me to be present but you never know...
Thank you for giving us your news. First of all, we wish you a good recovery and then we look forward to seeing you back in the saddle very soon.
